Please find below the general conditions for hiring a vehicle from Trusty Rentals.
driver licence requirements
All drivers should hold a valid driver licence. A current acceptable overseas, New Zealand or International licence is required from all intending drivers. At the manager's discretion, a holder of a licence for less than five years is acceptable but may incur higher insurance excess charges.
hire duration
The daily hire is calculated on a 24 hour basis (eg: 9.00am Monday to 9.00am Tuesday is considered one day). Vehicles should be returned on (or before) the time stated on the Rental Agreement or extra charges will apply from that time.
rental booking payment
Payment to made at commencement of the hire by cash, credit card or travellers cheques.
new zealand tax
Goods & Services Tax (GST) is 12.5% and is included in daily hire rates.
insurance
Comprehensive insurance is included in daily hire rates. A Bond applies to all hires.
bond
A bond is required for all vehicle hires and may be left by way of credit card imprint at the time of pick up. The bond is held until the vehicle is returned and will only be charged to your credit card if:
- the vehicle is involved in an accident or damaged while on hire.
- the vehicle is returned not refuelled.
- the vehicle is returned late.
one-way rentals
One-way vehicle rentals are available between Auckland and Christchurch by prior arrangement and quote.
vehicle accessory hire
Customers can hire additional accessories such as baby seats, child booster seats and snow chains.
cancellations
Please keep us advised of any changes to your travel plans, as there may be a charge for any late cancellations.

Are subject to the Terms and Conditions incorporated in the Rental Agreement.
