Both times we again used Trusty Rentals for our car hire. They may not be the latest models of cars, but as before they were clean and reliable. The fact that we have now used them 3 times must say something about the value for money and the helpfulness of the people there. The tour was superb to say the least. From Te Anau, there is a 20 mins bus ride to Manipouri, then a ferry trip to West Arm, a bus trip to Doubtful Sound via the power station of about an hour,then a 3.5 trip on the Sound. It had been raining and snowing the night before so the waterfalls were fantastic. We also got out to the Tasman Sea and had a great view of the wildlife. On the way back to the landing the skipper stopped the engines and the generators so that we could listen to the perfect silence and contemplate the peacefulness of the place.
